Tales From the Yucatan Jungle
Life in a
Mayan Village

Kristine Ellingson

Kristine Ellingson was a
successful jewelry designer with two grown children and a marriage on
the rocks. Kristine needed some time to find direction and meaning in
her life. She left her home in Oregon for a trip to Yucatan that she
believed would be a stopover on her way to Portugal. Much to her
surprise, her stop in Yucatan was not only longer than expected, it was
permanent.
Join Kristine as she recounts her
journey in finding a new home and
family in a Mayan village near the archaeological ruins of Uxmal. From
Spanish flash cards to falling in love with a Mayan hotel night desk
clerk, a transformation begins both with Kristine and the village. In
spite of being an outsider and looking nothing like the Maya—she is
tall and blonde—she is accepted by the village and becomes an integral
part of their community.
Once
a successful American jewelry
designer, Kristine creates multiple
businesses in her village, fusing two cultures, two beliefs, two ways
of life. Twenty years later, and still married to the Mayan hotel clerk
who is now her business partner, Kristine shares her real life stories
of love, pain, loss, and learning. She learns that taking a leap
of
faith can lead to a fuller and more adventurous life.
Kristine allows readers to glimpse a world seldom seen by outsiders.
Some of the experiences she shares are:
- Being
brought back from the brink of blood poisoning death with the help of a
“curandero” (a traditional healer)
- Learning
how to care for dying family members where there are no funeral homes
- Buying a
daughter for 10,000 pesos
- Living in
a rural Mayan family compound
- Using
childhood horseback riding skills at the annual village rodeo or
“corrida.”
- Giving
appropriate Mayan weddings gifts—not a blender or dinnerware
- Building a
house that the villagers think might be a hotel because it is so large
- Being
fingerprinted when getting married
- Surviving
the harsh Mexican motoring laws after a traffic accident
- Getting
lost in Merida, the capital of the State of Yucatan, before knowing
Spanish
- Striking
fear in salesmen when buying a truck because she, a
woman, would be test driving it, since in the Mayan world 20 years ago,
women did not drive
- Participating
in a shamanic ceremony to heal the land
Tales from the Yucatan Jungle: Life in a
Mayan Village brings two
worlds together and shares glimpses into a sacred, rich Mayan way of
life.

Have Your Heart's Desire:
Tools for a Wealthier, Healthier, Happier
Life
By
Carol Chapman
Are
you interested in a book that will change your life?
The inspirational prayers in Have
Your Heart’s Desire: Tools for a
Wealthier, Healthier, Happier Life have improved the lives of
many and
can do the same for you.
|
Author Carol
Chapman has shared these prayers
for years at her speaking engagements. Audience members have remarked
that the prayers have improved their lives. Now she’s sharing the
prayers with the rest of the world so that others can reap the benefits
the prayers provide.
Chapman learned the prayers from their creator, J. Everett Irion, a
kind and psychic counselor working at Edgar Cayce headquarters in
Virginia Beach. He studied the psychic guidance in the Cayce readings
and provided private spiritual coaching sessions that included guidance
in psychic development, personal transformation, and self improvement.
One of the prayers, the profound 40-day Forgiveness Prayer, is often
referred to as the Edgar Cayce prayer.
Everett was in his mid-70s when the author knew him. Sadly, he has
passed away since, but his words of wisdom live on. In this fantastic
book you will learn:
- How to
forgive yourself
- A prayer
for forgiving others
- A prayer
that helps with guilt and grief
- A prayer
to help relationship problems
- How the
40-Day Prayer inadvertently led to one man’s healing from a terminal
illness
- How to use
the Law of Attraction in ways that honor the will of the soul
- Spiritual
guidelines for making good choices
- Why you
need to appreciate everything
- A prayer
for letting go of anger and resentment
- The
interplay of the conscious and subconscious minds in finding happiness
- How
body/mind healing and Grace can result when following these spiritual
practices
- How the
Prayer of Manifestation can bring you the desires of your heart
- How to
choose your words to create more powerful prayers
If you want to
make a better life, this is the book for you!
Have Your Hearts Desire
is the first book in the "Your Spiritual
Awakening" series. When readers learned of the many spiritual
techniques
author Carol Chapman used that led to her spiritual awakening as
described in her book, When We Were
Gods: Insights on Atlantis, Past
Lives, Angelic Beings of Light, and Spiritual Awakening, they
asked her
to give them step-by-step instructions. In answer to their request, she
is creating the Your Spiritual Awakening series which will include
working with dreams, using meditation methods to better your life, and
manifesting your psychic soul powers through communicating with nature
spirits.
Foreword by Nancy C. Christbaum, formerly Nancy C. Pohle, co-author of Awakening the Real You:
Awareness through Dreams and Intuition.

What is a Kindle?
A Kindle, or more correctly, a Kindle e-book, is a
form of electronic book that was created by Amazon. Although Amazon has
created its own Kindle e-reader, Kindle e-books can also be read on
other devices. For example, you can get free
apps to read Kindle e-books on your PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, Blackberry,
and other devices.
In addition, once you have a device that can be used to view Kindle
e-books, you can order a Kindle e-book at any time from just about
anywhere in the world and have it delivered to your e-reader within
seconds. Kindle e-books are also often less expensive than the
paperback or hardcover versions of the same book.
If you are interested in having an actual Kindle e-reader, it must be
ordered from Amazon.com. Amazon has a couple of different types of
Kindle e-readers, and only one, the Kindle
Fire, displays images in color. It is important to note that not
all Kindle e-books are produced with color photos. If you have a Kindle
Fire or other device that displays color, it will only do so if the
original Kindle e-book contains color. Some of the black and white
Kindle e-reader models are the basic
Kindle e-reader, the Kindle
Touch, and the Kindle
Keyboard. There are also a couple of models that can be shipped
internationally.
The Topaz
The topaz is the gem of
the sun. It is most often golden yellow in color.
Ancient Egyptians
associated the gem with Ra, the sun god. They believed it protected the
wearer from harm.
For the Romans, the topaz was
associated with Jupiter, god of the sun.
The Greeks believed the stone
would increase the strength of the wearer.
The topaz is also believed to
improve vision, both eyesight and intuitive sight.
The golden topaz is not only the gem of
the sun,
but it also symbolizes intuitive
vision. |
